Just wanted everyone to know that. If there ever was one thing that would probably kill me, it would be bobbing. I can only keep momentum up for the first two or three descents and then I stop in the middle of the water. I don't sink or float, I just hover there. Even if I blow out all my air I don't sink.
Where are you looking when you descend? I had a hover problem, when I started bobbing. A PJ buddy said to look up towards the surface. It worked for me. Just an idea. Then again there is always the cement boot option.
Yeah, try that- but in my experience, when people hover, they've got more air in them than they thought they did. It's gonna be a painfully slow descent, and that's part of why they do it, haha.
I'd say do your best bet would be to get enough air in the lungs right before you make the descent you think you're going to suck at, and as you exhale, look up, it will increase your rate of descent
Try giving a nice steady exhale while placing your chin on your chest. Closing your eyes and relaxing also helps....let the bottom of the pool surprise you every time. It is also VERY important to push off the bottom of the pool as if your life depended on it (because it does) to enable a big bob motion the entire time....attempt to get your nipples or "Pey peys" out of the water every time.
