Hey everyone. I am fairly new to the whole form swimming. Right now I am struggling on breathing. I am coming up every 3rd stroke but its just not working for me. I panic and don't get enough air. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I know there are books but I need real advice. Thanks.
The best bet is to keep trying. Are you practicing underwaters? That will teach you not to panic, for sure!
Swimming is anaerobic precisely because it denies you oxygen. Not panicking and keeping a smooth, even pace of strokes/breathing is absolutely necessary for a strong foundation in swimming.
Long story made short, it sucks at first, but you'll get used to it quickly if you do NOT let yourself quit.
